Greetings!

As you read this, the Spring Classic will have passed.  We have two entries this year in the newly added High Performance Classes, Kai Handt and Lyndon Rife.  HDS has submitted an application to have our spring show be a High Performance qualifier next year.  Our show was given a special dispensation this year to only occur on two days.  Nest year, our spring show will occur over three days, provided we are approved to host the High Performance qualifier.  On Friday, we may add a breed show along with classes in an open show. 

The summer show and HDS junior show are coming up quickly.  The summer show prize list is on the website.  Closing for the summer show is May 14th.  The junior show opens June 1st.  Look for the info on the HDS website soon.  Please encourage all juniors that you know to come and participate.  This is absolutely the most fun show that we do and we want to encourage the next generation of dressage riders. We have a gymkhana on Saturday that features fun classes and then the juniors ride the dressage tests on Sunday (in team costume).  Teams can be comprised of 3 or 4 riders.

The USEF Dressage Committee has released a new draft of the Dressage Performance Standards Proposal for review and feedback from USDF and USEF members. This new proposal would establish a qualification process for competing at Fourth Level and above at USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized Dressage Competitions. The proposal would become effective on December 1, 2010 for the 2011 competition year.  Please participate and let them know what you think.

Linda Zang and Stephen Clarke will be here at the end of the month.  From everything that we have heard, they are a phenomenal pair with much to offer.  Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to see this pair.  The deadline for HDS members to receive a discount for auditing is May 9th.  Please support this wonderful educational event!
